These are not notebooks you'll feel guilty writing in. The RO-BIKI NOTE Basic Series is made to be used, carried, loved, and slowly worn in, the waxed kraft paper cover starts crisp and a little stiff, then softens, darkens, and picks up creases over time, developing a patina that's entirely yours. Think of it like a good leather bag, except it's a notebook, and it costs a lot less.
Inside, the tiny 2mm squared grid is precise and endlessly useful, a gift for architects, illustrators, hand-lettering enthusiasts, and anyone who likes their notes to look like they have their life together. The smooth fountain pen-friendly ivory paper delivers clean, satisfying lines with no feathering and minimal bleed-through, and the slim format slips easily into a bag or back pocket.
ABOUT THE BRAND
The RO-BIKI NOTE is made by Yamamoto Paper, a paper specialist founded in Osaka in 1972 and quietly beloved among Japanese stationery enthusiasts. "Ro-biki" refers to the traditional wax-coating process that gives the cover its character, and the notebooks are filled with Yamamoto's New Chiffon Cream paper, a smooth ivory stock chosen for how beautifully it handles fountain pens, pencils, ballpoints, and gel pens alike. Thread-and-glue binding means every notebook opens completely flat and stays flat, even after heavy use.
